RENTCafé Registry Helping Harvey Evacuees Find a Home Quicker "Credit News 24"
Tens of thousands of Texans have been left without a place to live after Hurricane Harvey. This devastating storm took away a basic human necessity – shelter -- and many of those affected are still struggling to find a new place to call home.
To ease up the process of finding a home, RENTCafé, a national apartment search website, has created an online housing registry where displaced residents can find rental units that are available right now, listed directly by property managers and landlords in the area. The webpage allows housing providers to list available apartments along with any special concessions they may offer to help those in search of temporary or permanent housing. As part of this not-for-profit initiative, Yardi, RENTCafé’s parent company, has waived all fees for using the website for both housing providers and prospective renters.
